The ski season in Abzakovo starts in November and ends only in April. The temperature remains fairly stable throughout the season at 10–15 degrees below zero. In late December and early January, there can be severe frosts, with the thermometer dropping to -40 degrees. On average, during the winter period, there is one heavy snowfall for every 10 sunny and frosty days.
However, you don’t need to worry about prolonged bad weather, snowstorms, or extreme cold. Poor weather is rare in this area, and intense cold is not very noticeable due to the dry climate. The mild climate makes the resort very popular. Another important reason why people choose Abzakovo is the quality accommodations, reasonable prices, and hospitality.
Visitors are accommodated in recreation houses that form a small, cozy town. This town consists of two buildings with standard rooms, four buildings with rooms of various levels, two-story cottages, and a sports hotel. The cost of a night’s stay in a hotel ranges between 2,500 and 8,500 rubles.
Abzakovo Ski Slopes
The heart of the ski complex is the Canadian snowmaking system, which operates even on the remote slopes and helps extend the season by two months. There are a total of 13 slopes, categorized into red, blue, and green slopes. Their total length is 20 km, but only 7 of them are actively used. The maximum length of a single slope is 2.7 km. The resort also has a designated children’s slope, which is enclosed with a special safety net and equipped with slower-moving lifts suitable for kids.
For nighttime skiing, you can choose slope 6 or 8, which are equipped with nighttime lighting. For slalom, slopes 2 and 3 are suitable, and for giant slalom, slope 4 is recommended.
Lifts
The resort is serviced by a total of six lifts: five T-bar lifts that accommodate 3,500 people per hour, and a chairlift that transports visitors to the highest point of the slopes.
All lifts operate according to a strictly fixed schedule—from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 2-hour break, after which operations resume until 11:00 PM. Night skiing is organized twice a week when all the slopes are illuminated.
